Originally a heavy-duty refurbishment project, it has evolved to include large new-build elements that require careful and sympathetic integration with the existing masonry. A portion of the site lies within a conservation area, necessitating expert craftsmanship to preserve the visual character and historical integrity of several buildings. The site comprises over 40 independent structures, each constructed at different times, which has demanded a wide variety of bespoke details to suit the specific remedial and rebuild works required. In many instances, the existing structural build-up has differed significantly from expectations once exposed, requiring Broadwin to support the project team with innovative methods and practical solutions throughout using a mixture of metric and imperially sized materials to suit the time of when the adajcent exisiting masonry was built. Due to constant changes, broadwin has had to be flexible and react qucikly to labour requirements to meet an evolving target and accelerate works to achieve required key dates. To date, Broadwin has logged over 4,000 quality checks, ensuring a robust and traceable record of all works carried out on site.
